Real Estate Lawyer: Legal Support for Property Transactions

Legal support for real estate transactions in Tel Aviv

Buying or selling a property requires checking the rights, documents and obligations before signing. Paz Israel & Co. supports clients in real estate transactions and helps tailor the agreement to the circumstances of the deal.

What should you check before signing a sale contract?

Find out who is registered as the rights holder, whether there are notes or charges, and what the licensing and rights status is according to the relevant documents. A key starting point is a land registry extract; in a condominium building, review the building documents too. Where rights are not registered at the Tabu, identify the body managing the registration and check the appropriate rights confirmation.

What is the lawyer’s role in the transaction?

Support includes reviewing documents, drafting or checking the sale contract, coordinating payment and handover stages, handling required reports and planning registration of the rights. The scope of checks varies with the type of property and transaction, so individual advice before committing is important.

Frequently asked questions before a real estate deal

Is a Tabu extract enough to check the property?

Not always. It is a basic document, but checks must fit the type of property and how the rights are registered. Condominium documents, a rights confirmation, planning checks and other documents are sometimes needed.

When should you consult a real estate lawyer?

Preferably before signing any binding document, including a memorandum of understanding, so that the checks and contractual mechanisms required for the specific deal can be identified in advance.

Does the same process fit every transaction?

No. Buying a second-hand apartment, buying from a developer, selling a property or a deal involving unregistered rights each raise different questions. This information is general and does not replace individual legal advice.
